Dr Nuno Borges
Qualifications: LMD Coimbra – Portugal 2007
Nuno graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Coimbra, Portugal in 2007. He has worked in Bristol ever since in a busy mixed practice for 15 years. During this period, he completed various postgraduate courses covering many different aspects of Dentistry. He has developed a keen interest in Periodontology and is now passionate about this specialty. He is currently undertaking a postgraduate Masters in Periodontology at the University of Bristol.
Nuno really enjoys treating nervous patients and changing their perceptions regarding dental treatment. Improving their gum health can be life-changing, which he finds very rewarding. Nuno particularly enjoys creating long-lasting friendships with the patients he comes across.
Outside of work, he is a big football fan of Bristol City and he loves the sea, and the countryside where he enjoys going for long walks with his wife Vera.

Dr Carolyn Eaton
Qualifications: BDS (University of Bristol) 2012 MFDS RCS (Edinburgh) 2014
Carolyn graduated from the University of Bristol in 2012 with distinctions and merits across multiple disciplines. Carolyn has worked in General and Community Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and as a Clinical Teacher in Oral Surgery at King’s College London.
In 2019, Carolyn was accepted onto a four-year specialty training pathway at Guy’s Hospital, London where she has been undertaking complex periodontal cases with non-surgical and surgical treatments. Carolyn is at the end of her specialty training and has been enjoying restoring patients with gum disease back to health and seeing the positive impact this has on their quality of life. We have seen Carolyn’s gentle and holistic approach puts patients at ease producing outstanding results.
In her spare time, Carolyn enjoys going to the gym, hiking, meeting up with friends and keeping her two nephews, who are 3 and 5, busy!

Dr Rachael Hinton
Qualifications: BDS (Hons) Sheffield 2011 PGDip Advanced General Dental Practice Birmingham
Rachael is a general dental practitioner who came to join the Gum Health perio-team as a dentist with experience in restorative and periodontal treatments in general practice. She completed her undergraduate degree with the University of Sheffield in 2011 before completing a postgraduate diploma with the University of Birmingham in all areas of general dentistry achieving a distinction in the periodontal modules and overall.
She has worked in private practice in Bristol developing her patient management and technical skills over time. She has a teaching role with the University of Bristol at the Dental School as a clinical lecturer in the Dept of Restorative Dentistry, teaching the clinical skills of dentistry and periodontics to undergraduate students. She finds the interplay of gum health with how the teeth meet together and function particularly interesting.
She will be undertaking further postgraduate training and research in periodontics to be at the cutting edge of the specialty. She has a friendly approach to care and is particularly reassuring to anxious patients, having done further training in anxiety management and conscious sedation. She gets a huge amount of satisfaction from taking a bespoke approach to care and seeing the dramatic improvements in health and confidence that patients achieve through periodontal treatment.

Dr Imogen Midwood
Qualifications: BDS(Bris) MJDF RCS (Eng) MSc Res (Bris) MClinDent Hons(Perio) MPerio RCS (Edin)
Imogen graduated as a general dentist at Bristol Dental Hospital in 2012. She built her experience in general dentistry and undertook a year as a junior house officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Gloucester Royal Hospital. In 2017 Imogen undertook a further 4 years of specialist training in Periodontology at Guys Dental Hospital, London Bridge.
This training has equipped Imogen to treat patients with a full range of periodontal (gum) treatments, depending on the individuals’ needs. Imogen graduated as a specialist periodontist in 2021 and since then has worked as a periodontist treating patients and she continues to be an active member of the British Society of Periodontology, where she regularly hosts online webinars for the society.
Imogen has recently moved to Malmesbury, outside of the dental surgery she enjoys keeping fit, gardening and catching up with friends and family.
